SixSeeds seeks to equip parents to raise children of service and generosity. Parents need help when their children are confronted the forces of consumerism, entitlement, and insulation from poverty. We introduce thoughtful resources, perspectives, and practical steps.
Here are Six Ways your family could benefit from what SixSeeds is learning:
1. Get reminders
Amidst the craziness of family life that can drown out some of our deepest values, SixSeeds can serve as a gentle reminder. For subscribers and partner families, we periodically send out regular e-newsletters that summarize new or particularly relevant content on our website.
2. Get insights on parenting
Parents are confronted with the forces of consumerism, entitlement, and insulation from poverty. We introduce thoughtful conversations and commentary to support parents in this challenging environment.
3. Get a curriculum
SixSeeds education specialists are constantly developing original material to help you teach your kids about the needs in the world and how they can respond. And we'd love to hear from you if you have developed or found other material.
4. Get stimulated
We want to consider the social influences on the contemporary family, whether that means reflecting on how we celebrate Halloween or asking whether the technology of giving may actually hinder long term generosity. Our partnership includes a wide range of ideologies and perspectives, which makes for some great conversations.
5. Get with other parents
As diverse as we are, and we share some core values. Many of our parents have expressed relief at finding other families that also share those values. We are still in the early stages of figuring out how to facilitate more direct interaction between our families. But we would like it to happen in the near future. It's just too enjoyable of a prospect for us to wait that much longer!
6. Get a voice
We are an advocate for the importance of family based service and giving. Especially for volunteer organizations and philanthropic enterprises, SixSeeds offers expertise on how to unlock the immense potential of families.
